The exhibition “Dissident Fantasies, Chile – Mexico, 1978-1987” wants to vindicate LGBT and gender activism, and specifically the one that dozens of trans people carried out in these countries during that decade when the rights of the collective barely existed and make it clear that these lives “were not in vain”.
The Madrid gallery Memoria is back with a very political show, with photographs and drawings by renowned Mexican artists Graciela Iturbide (Mexico City, 1942), Yolanda Andrade (Villahermosa, 1950), Terry Holiday (Mexico City, 1955) and Chilean Paz Errazuriz (Santiago de Chile, 1944).
