The exhibition by the Panamanian photographer at the Memoria gallery highlights domestic work as a transformative force and asserts its role as a space of power and resistance.
The Madrid-based Memoria gallery is hosting La servidumbre, a visual essay by Sandra Eleta exploring domestic labour and its social implications. This photographic series was produced in Panama and Spain between 1975 and 1989. The project as a whole aims to explore different perspectives on photography as a manifestation of power and representation.
