It has been almost 30 years since Panamanian artist Sandra Eleta’s last solo exhibition in Spain, and this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy her work once again. The series “La servidumbre (1975–1989)” is one of the most notable works in the photographer’s career. Created in both Spain and Panama, it explores the representation of power within the intimacy of everyday life. Eleta photographed domestic workers in their workplaces, but using a visual language that challenges established hierarchies.
