As it does every September, Madrid kicks off its season with Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend, an event that gets the city’s gallery circuit up and running again after the summer break. From 10 to 13 September, more than sixty venues will be showcasing their latest exhibitions in an edition that, once again, invites visitors to explore Madrid through contemporary art. From a particularly extensive programme, we have selected five exhibitions that are well worth keeping an eye on: Juan Castillo at MEMORIA, Ana Gallardo at La Oficina, Léo Fourdrinier at Casado Santapau, Irene de Andrés at Juan Silió, and the pictorial dialogue between Alain Urrutia and Chema López at 1 Mira Madrid. Five very different exhibitions that offer a good starting point for getting a feel for the new season.
